Summer is here and we all know what that means: FESTIVAL SEASON! Whether it's rock music, our nation's independence or BBQ, there's always something to celebrate come summertime. Check out a roundup of fests coming up just outside NYC, perfect for a weekend getaway! Bethel Lakeside Summer Concert Series: Pack a snack and a blanket and cozy up on the lawn for weekly Thursday concert series at Kauneonga Lake Gazebo Park in Sullivan County. From July 5th through August 20, talented musical artists vary from week to week. While you're in the neighborhood, check out the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts Concert Series. The site of the original 1969 Woodstock festival, nestled in the beautiful Catskills, still hosts a wide variety of performances every summer. Fourth of July Birthday BBQ Bash: This July 4th weekend, head up to the Ithaca region in the Finger Lakes for a fun-filled day of wine, beer, music, and local food trucks, all capped off with the most spectacular fireworks display in the Finger Lakes! Host Americana Vineyards is a scenic spot for this celebration, one of the many local gems on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. This bash will feature music from Purple Valley, Backtalk Band, Thru Spectrums, City Limits and the Jeff Love Band. Taste of Buffalo: Saturday July 7th and Sunday July, 8th, check out the celebration of the 35th year of sharing food, drinks and good times with the great city of Buffalo! Brewery Ommegang Concert Series: Every summer, Brewery Ommegang in Central New York welcomes an all-star musical lineup of up-and-comers and well-known performers to its 136-acre farmstead brewery in Cooperstown for their annual Summer Concert Series.  The concert lineup is announced each Spring
