Maple Weekend in
the Sullivan Catskills!
Dear EscapeMakers – Imagine sipping freshly boiled sap while learning about the age-old process of tapping
maple trees.
Enjoy New York Maple
Weekend in the Sullivan Catskills.
Pack up the kids and spend the weekend at Frost Valley YMCA learning about their maple sugaring operation while enjoying all of their on-site activities like archery, cross country skiing, snow tubing and more.
Visit Justus Asthalter Maple Syrup, a fourth generation maple farm dating back to 1937. Guests will learn how maple syrup is made, while enjoying samples and
demos on making maple cream and candy – beyond delicious.
At Catskill Mountain Sugar House, an 800-acre NOFA-NY certified organic farm, you can have a tour and a taste – they’re open from 9:30am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 24th and 25th. Lean about their sugarbush operation and why they never tap roadside trees.
No matter which maple producer you explore, remember to bring a bottle or two home for Baked French Toast, Maple Marshmallows and Parsnip Cake with Maple Pecan Buttercream.
