3. RiverFest – July 22 Celebrating 28 years, the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s River Fest brings together art, music and ecology for one of the most popular events in the Sullivan Catskills. Bid on original artwork at the high-energy poster auction or shop for locally handcrafted pottery, jewelry, glass-ware, woodworking, candles, photography, soap and more. Relish in the natural beauty of the scenic wild Delaware River!
4. Callicoon Country Fair – July 28
Bring your friends and family to the Callicoon
Country Fair! This town-wide event features
art, music, food, and fun. Shop for antiques, art, crafts, locally made artisan goods, flea market items, jewelry and more. Wander along the historic streets, view the architecture and admire the beautiful
Delaware River. And, at 2pm, be sure to check out the pie eating contest!
5. 1930’s Catskill Farm Hoedown – July 28
Go back to the 1930s for an evening reminiscent of a traditional Catskill Farm Hoedown. At the Time and Valleys Museum, you’ll be treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner and a sneak peek of the museum’s newest exhibit, The Lost Catskill Farm (opening this September). Swing your partner in a square dance in the barn or sway to the sounds of other period music pieces. Take a break from the dancing and cool your brow with a drink of Prohibition Cider or Bathtub Ginger Ale. If you’re feeling extra festive, period dress is encouraged.
