Ithaca is Festivals!

Dear EscapeMakers,
Spring has arrived, and that means lots of live music in the great outdoors in Ithaca, NY! Whether it's dancing to their favorite music or feasting on their favorite food, the Ithaca community always finds a reason to celebrate. Ithaca's festival scene has been around almost as long as the city has. Come find out why Ithaca is Festivals.

May 30 - June 2, 2019 - Ithaca Festival
Since 1977, the streets of downtown Ithaca have been taken over for this festival celebrating the city and its inhabitants. Food vendors, crafts, apparel, art, music and
smiles line the streets. Groups gather for the parade and proudly dance though the streets showing off their individuality through their neighborhood, their chainsaws, or even their gourd art. A weekend filled with uniquely-Ithaca events, vendors, celebrations and people.

June 29, 2019 - Ithaca Reggae Fest - Right at the base of Cayuga Lake, Stewart Park provides some of the most scenic views you can find in Ithaca. Move and sway to prolific local and international musical acts, in a city with a strong affinity for roots reggae music. Participate in a yoga class under a mighty willow tree, savor a plate of locally-inspired cuisine, create colorful artwork, feel the grass between your toes, and let the music transport you.

July 18-21, 2019 - Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance
A four-day community celebration of 80+ bands, endless dancing, local food, craft beverages, and family-friendly activities, all based around nurturing artistic talent. Since 1991, the GrassRoots festival has become a staple of the village of Trumansburg, a vibrant and welcoming home to all who pass through. Immerse yourself in the festival spirit by camping on the fairgrounds or staying at a local B&B.

September 27 - October 6 - Finger Lakes Cider Week + Apple Harvest Festival
The most popular of the food festivals Ithaca's downtown has to offer. Kicking off the week of festivities is the Apple Harvest Festival. The Commons are taken over by apple cider doughnuts, apple pie, and even apple mac n' cheese. Through the week there will be events all over the region such as a craft cider tasting event, a cider pairing dinner, a cider sail on the lake, and a tour of Cornell Orchards. The perfect fall week for a refreshing, leaf-peeping, cider-sipping getaway in the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes.

True to the slogan: Ithaca is Festivals, there are year-round events, celebrations and festivities to attend and participate in:
