MORE PACKAGE DETAILS
The Widow McCrea House was built by the Widow McCrea in the 1870’s, renovated and restored by your hosts over a century later. A short walk will bring you to Frenchtown’s charming shops, fine local restaurants and the scenic Delaware River. Relax on the porch and absorb the ambiance of their charming river community or stroll the town and shop for fine art, antiques, varied quaint shops, galleries and restaurants. Rent a bicycle built for two and pedal along the Delaware River’s Historic Canal paths to pastoral settings and magnificent riverscapes. In the morning, you will be awakened by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and delectable dishes served by candlelight in their Victorian dining room. The inn is also pet-friendly.
Just up the road, Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse is a small, grass-based dairy farm in Milford. Bobolink’s breads are made from regionally-grown organic grains and other local ingredients. They are cold-risen using natural starters (with a bit of yeast added in a few of the styles), and baked in their wood-fired oven. The combination of slow fermentation and intense heat during baking give their breads an extended shelf-life at room temperature. The head baker, Nina White, will share even more trade secrets during class!
After class, explore the area’s other farms and vineyards with your ReachNow vehicle! Nearby, New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ, are known for their shopping, restaurants and fun nightlife. There’s so much to do along the Delaware River, you’ll want to come back again and again! Learn a new skill, spend quality time with a loved one and make some great memories on a quick road trip!
