Hudson Valley
2 to 3 hours
Distance from NY

The Hudson Valley teems with history and hops! Take the bus from NYC to the place Eleanor Roosevelt called her own home, Val Kill Cottage, the only National Historic Site dedicated to a first lady. In the large home, she could entertain who she wanted, stay up reading as late as she liked, and be alone if she chose. Take a walk through history and enjoy a gourmet locally-sourced boxed lunch on the lovely grounds.

From there, we are off to tour the Springwood Estate, home of Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR), and location of the first US Presidential Library. Listen to historic stories, and explore the beautiful grounds of this national treasure.

Afterwards, we’ll head to Hyde Park Brewing Co. for a crash course in brewing, beer sampler and a gourmet dinner (vegetarian option available) before heading back to the city. Brewmaster John Eccles, incorporates techniques passed down from 19th century German brewing style. Each beer has it’s own unique flavor profile and characteristics. The selection offers a number of fine beers to compliment the wide variety of dishes we have to offer.
