DESCRIPTION:Winter Village Music hosts a variety of acoustic music events at La Tourelle\, a beautiful 55 room inn located in Ithaca\, New York.  Our first event was the Winter Village Bluegrass Festival held in 2011 and featuring the Claire Lynch Band.  The festival\, now the Winter Village Music Festival\, is held during the last weekend in January.  In 2013\, we began the Falling Waters Music Camp during the second weekend of January.  And periodically\, we invite some of our favorite bands to return to La Tourelle for concerts.   See links below to learn more about the camp\, festival and occasional concerts.

Sagey is a farmhouse ale conditioned on just enough dried sage to add another layer of herbal goodness to an easy drinking saison! They’ll also be releasing Syrup Sucker again; an imperial brown ale fermented with local maple syrup from Tibbitts Maple in New Hartford! In honor of the unwavering support\, they’ll be selling crowlers of these beers for only $10 all day long!\n\nOn Saturday\, they are unveiling their anniversary barrel-aged beers! This year they have Bourbon Batch 3 and Rye Batch 3! Both of these wee-heavys spent time in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels from Black Button Distilling! Aged for over a year in the barrels\, the strong malt and chocolate character of the wee-heavy was enhanced with barrel flavors.With Bourbon Batch 3\, you can expect additonal notes of vanilla\, smooth bourbon\, and oak! The Rye Batch 3 is a special treat that adds a touch of rye spice\, oak\, and leather! 50 bottles of each will be available for sale when they open at 11!\n\n\nThe weekend will wrap up on Sunday with brunch at 10:00 followed at 2:00 by the area’s premier raucous string band\, Remsen Social Club! The boys were there for the first anniversary party and its only fitting they bring us all into Woodland’s fourth year of imbibing! SUMMARY:International Rutabaga Curling Championship
DESCRIPTION:Photo Credit: Allison Usavage \nThe sport of Rutabaga Curling was born on a cold December 1996 Market day\, the last market day of the season. The few vendors present (perhaps 25 or so this time of year and point in our history) huddled together for warmth and camaraderie waiting for an occasional customer. Talk at some point in the day turned to unusual winter sports. Curling of course came up in conversation. None of us knew the rules; but before we knew it vendors’ wares were being “hurled” or “curled” down the market’s wooden floor. Potatoes\, cinnamon rolls\, cabbages\, loaves of bread\, and even frozen chickens were fair game in this impromptu outburst. The first official Rutabaga Curl was held in 1998. The Games have come a long way in their brief history. Many traditions are kept alive\, expanded and invented on the spot. The Games open at high noon upon the arrival of the torch borne by a toga-clad individual running the eternal rutabaga flame in from “Mt. Cruciferous”. The Rutabaga Goddess leads the assembled throng in a moving “Parade of the Athletes”. After a celebrity toss of ceremonial First Rutabaga\, the Commissioner declares the games open. The games are closely monitored by our referees.
